Children are the future of the nation and when their future is in danger, then what fate does the nation hold? Among the numerous threats to children, the one which is most widespread and posing the slow but biggest danger in future is the uncontrolled usage of cellphones by children.
I agree technology is advancing rapidly and we need to keep pace with it. It has umpteen advantages and made our lives a lot easier but we cannot deny the negative side effects of it. We all know that the amount of time we spend ‘unknowingly’ scrolling past unnecessary reels and the urge to pick the phone very minute and browse mindlessly is bad for our physical and mental health. We can’t help it so we do it but let us try to spare the childhood of our kids from this.
The ‘Phone-free revolution’ law for the schools from grades K to 12 needs to be strengthened and implied all over the world. I know it has been implied in few places but not all. All the countries of the world need to implement this law to protect the future of their country ie their children.
Total eradication of phones for kids is not possible anymore but limiting the exposure is the need of the hour. How many kids do you see around who love to play outdoors, running on the green grass chasing butterflies or making paper boats and trying to sail them in tiny pools of water after the rains? All these activities which boost the physical and mental health of children are going obsolete. A single electronic device in their hands have replaced all of them. Now they are seen huddled up in the corner of a room or a park glued to a screen in their hands.
We can avoid that at least in schools, which takes up a major chunk of their time in a day, if firm rules are put into place. Its the need of the hour for the well being of our kids. So, we, the people of the world, let us do the necessary to strengthen this law!
